Our goal is to help the children in Oeleta, West Timor, Indonesia by providing a learning center in order to educate and brighten their future. With your help, we could make an outstanding impact on the everyday lives of these children.
Equipping children for a better future and a better life.
To help children in West Timor in their education by providing learning facilities, resources, and materials.
Our mission is to provide a safe and encouraging learning space for the children of West Timor as well as helping the overall communities. We have already built one learning center and hope we can provide another one in a different village, Oeleta. Due to a lack of transportation, children in other villages are not able to attend the learning center so we plan to create another. We can do this by building another building filled with books that the children can read, donating money to help support the communities, and showing them what kindness and compassion looks like.
But, to do this, we need your help!
According to kiva.org( https://pages.kiva.org/blog/huh-theres-a-west-timor ), NTT (Nusa Tenggara Timur) province, or West Timor, has the least favorable social and economic statistics of all 33 Indonesian provinces. Out of the 4.6 million people living in NTT, 65.42% are living below the poverty line, earning less than 1.00 USD per day. Shockingly, 68.08% of these people have an elementary education or less.
A few years ago, my mom and I went to West Timor, Indonesia to visit and many people there still lived in extreme poverty. Many of them are still in dire need of essential necessities such as food and water. If we help the younger generations get a better education, they can grow up to help their parents and escape poverty. Meanwhile, these families need our help and the children need a good learning environment and education. We realized that there was nowhere for children in this Indonesian community to go after school/ during the day, so we built a small building, kind of like a mini library, so that children could gather there to do homework and read books. Every once in a while, we have a teacher or guest speaker come in to teach the children because their education system has very low standards. In fact, many children are not able to even attend school because going to school means that the family would have to purchase books, uniforms, and other educational resources.

This is where the children would go before we built the learning center.
This is the first learning center we built. With your help, we hope to build another one in a different village with the same structure.
We brought in some guest speakers to teach the children about varying subjects to enhance their learning.
The building is almost done and we have been using it since December 2023 for kids in West Timor, Indonesia.
They have been working to finish the porch of the house.
Even though the building is not 100% done, we have activities for kids inside.
