I am Hayley Liu. I am currently an eleventh grader at Del Norte High School. I enjoy volunteering in nursing homes and childrens’ programs. I also love to dance, lead worship at church through playing the guitar and singing, and do art specifically calligraphy. Academically, I enjoy biomedical science related topics and aspire to become a physician.

Hello, I am Matteo Busalacchi. I am currently an eleventh grader at Del Norte High School. In school, I have a passion for history and studying relationships between specific historical events. I also love utilizing my creativity to discover and create new products, ideas, and solutions related to engineering. Further, I enjoy playing video games and baseball with my brother.
In American nursing homes over half of elders are experiencing loneliness and 30% are diagnosed with depression.
Our group of supportive and resilient high school students has the goal of tending to and caring for the elderly. We want to spread awareness because this issue is rampant across America and is often overlooked. Furthermore, we want to ensure that the elderly feel valued and understood.
We travel to nearby nursing homes and care for the elderly. We design engaging games to aid with motor skill functions while also giving them companionship to look forward to. We also create meaningful artwork with inspirational quotes to help with the loneliness epidemic.
